Privacy notice
How Mashirika Law handles information you share on this platform — for accounts, guidance, and confidential monitoring review.
Platform accounts
If you create an account, we store the details you provide — such as your name, email, organisation name, organisation type, county, and phone — so you can sign in, save compliance progress, and receive replies from Mashirika Law staff. Passwords are stored in hashed form, not as plain text.
Anonymous reports
The public report form does not ask for your name or an account. We store the topic, subject, and details you write, plus an email only if you choose to leave one so we can reply. Mashirika Law staff can add internal notes. These reports are not published.
Confidential monitoring review
Reports about registration experiences, enabling practices, and civic space incidents are treated as confidential. Mashirika Law staff moderate submissions before they are used in advocacy. Do not include information you are not willing to share with Mashirika Law reviewers.
How we use information
We use account and form data to operate the platform, answer questions, improve guidance, and support civic-space monitoring. We do not sell personal data. Access is limited to Mashirika Law staff who need it for those purposes, and to service providers required to host the site.
Questions about privacy
If you want to update or remove account details, or you have a question about this notice, email info@crecokenya.org. This notice may be updated as the platform grows; the version on this page is the current one.
